Hi everyone! So it is the day before my flight and my anxiety is at an all time high. It's dawning on me that soon, I'll be leaving the comfort of this paradise I call home, and embarking on a journey which will take me to the opposite end of the world. Big shout out to the University of Hawaii at Manoa Study Abroad Center (UHMSC) for making this amazing opportunity possible!
As far as packing goes, I managed to pack everything I need: Clothes, shoes, books, dental stuff, a roll of toilet paper, passport, International Student ID Card, Acceptance Letter, a little bit of sand, come chocolate covered macadamia nuts, and lots of Aloha. I feel like I'll end up forgetting something regardless, but when do I ever not? At least the hardest part was already out of the way.
Although packing was easy, the application process was no walk in the park. I highly recommend you start early! Thankfully, I have an awesome study abroad adviser with an enthusiastic attitude, who is very knowledgeable in her field as well. From scholarship opportunities to paperwork inquiries, Allison Yap has been fantastic at providing me with the support I needed. Keep doing what you do Allison!
